Privacy Policy
Effective date: 30 October 2026
This policy explains what arabiyyarovers.net collects, why, and the choices each person has. The site is run by Arabiyya Scout Group (11th Male' Scout Group), Al Madarsathul Arabiyyathul Islamiyya, K. Male', Maldives ("the Group").
1. What is collected
- Contact form: name, email address, phone number (optional), and the message.
- Leaders who manage the site: ASG ID sign-in details.
- Basic technical data: IP address, browser type and the pages requested, used for security and to stop spam.
2. Why it is used
The Group uses this information only:
- to reply to messages and enquiries;
- to keep the site safe and working.
The Group does not sell personal data and does not use it for advertising.
3. Young people and guardians
Many members are under 18, including Explorers aged 16–17. For anyone under 18, a parent or guardian must agree before an account is made or details are given, and the guardian can use all the rights below for the young person. If the Group learns that details of a minor were given without consent, they will be deleted.
4. Who helps run the service
These service providers process data for the Group, only to run the service:
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the site and its database and files, and protects it from attacks.
- An email service provider sends emails such as replies, codes and notices.
Some of these providers store data outside the Maldives, including in the USA. They are bound to keep it secure. Data may also be shared when the law requires it, or with the Scout Association of Maldives for membership and award records.
5. How it is protected
All pages are served only over HTTPS, so data is encrypted in transit. Sensitive details are encrypted when stored, passwords are never stored in readable form, and access is limited to leaders who need it.
6. How long it is kept
Contact messages are kept for up to 2 years, then deleted.
7. Cookies and local storage
The site uses only necessary cookies and browser storage: to keep people signed in, to protect forms from misuse, and to remember language, theme and cart choices. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set a security cookie to block bots.
8. Rights
Under the Constitution of the Maldives and Maldivian law, each person can ask to:
- see the data held about them;
- correct anything wrong or out of date;
- have their data deleted, unless the law requires it to be kept;
- withdraw consent, for example for the newsletter or notifications.
Email support@arabiyyascouts.org. The Group will reply within 30 days and may check identity first.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version and its date will be posted on this page. Big changes will also be announced on the site.
